Meet the photographer

Hi, I’m Amber.

I’m a stay-at-home mom to two girls, an artist, and the person behind the camera at Flutterby Studio, based in Grovetown and serving families throughout Augusta, North Augusta, and the wider CSRA. As a little girl, I dreamed of photographing for National Geographic and traveling the world. Over the last seven years, I’ve fallen just as deeply in love with photographing people—their personalities, emotions, and connections.

I know what it’s like to struggle with photos of yourself. My seven-year-old took a portrait of me that made me cry because I loved it so much. That feeling—surprise, recognition, and a little more love for yourself—is what I hope every client takes home.

How much does a session cost?

Each session is listed at the agreed-upon price and requires a $25 retainer. Message me for any other pricing inquiries.

How many edited photos will I receive?

I don’t guarantee a set number of photos because every session is unique and yields a different amount. Longer sessions generally produce more images. I won’t deliver a poor photo just to meet a quota—or delete a good one to stay under one. As a general guide, mini sessions provide 3–20 photos, one-hour portrait or couples sessions provide 20+, and two-hour family sessions provide 30+.

Do you shoot on location, in a studio, or both?

I typically shoot on location, but I do have mobile studio equipment, including a backdrop and lighting.

Can I order prints or albums, or is it digital only?

I use Pixieset to deliver digital galleries. You can order prints and other products directly through its lab. I also offer USB flash drives and handmade heirloom albums that I create and deliver myself. Ask me about pricing.

What’s your reschedule and bad-weather policy?

I’m not photogenic—how does a session actually work?

You don’t have to be. Most people tell me they feel awkward in front of a camera—I’ve been there myself. My sessions are relaxed: we wander, talk, and let real moments happen with prompts and movement instead of poses that feel unnatural. My hope is that you open your gallery and feel that little jolt of surprise and recognition—come as you are, and leave loving what you see.
